Marquee Boost
The Adidas Marquee Boost is a sneaker revived from the 90’s, so we created a playable trading card set to pay homage to it.
The trading card set was launched with a psychedelic spot that was inspired by Saturday Morning Cartoons. Calling the number gave directions on how to get a deck of cards.
Each pack of cards contained 8 cards and could be picked up at any NYC adidas store. People were encouraged to trade with others to create prize-winning combinations, like a poster or pair of shoes.
Cards designed by Tyson Beck
There were 7, one-of-a-kind holographic cards that reimagined each Adidas athlete as a fantastical superhero with a unique power. Those who got them won tickets to a Knicks game and a pair of shoes.
The card designs were painted on full sized canvases by fine artist Malik Roberts.
Each deck also included a card that represented one of the boroughs.
Since our audience was mostly teens who weren't even alive in the '90s, each deck included a card with a 90's fun fact.
Each deck included a card that highlighted one feature of the Marquee Boost shoe.
